Buckhead Gourmet was founded in 1993 by William C. Morrill, a gourmet chef, wine aficionado and world traveler. During his extensive travels, he savored some of the finest cuisine to be found anywhere.
As a result of his exposure to many different styles of cooking, Mr. Morrill discovered one important fact: the flavor of meat remained essentially the same regardless of how it was prepared prior to cooking. He immediately realized that there had to be a niche market for classic gourmet sauces that not only contained no or very little fat, but were easy and convenient to use. His newly created sauces provided a unique opportunity for the home cook to enjoy a truly gourmet dining experience with a minimum of preparation. All one needed to do was heat the sauce, allow it to simmer over low heat and then serve it over one’s favorite meats, whether red, white or game.
Through experimentation and the establishment of strictly followed cooking methods, Vidalia Valley further refined the flavor and quality of these four truffle-essence sauces, allowing us to produce commercial quantities without sacrificing any of the sauces’ distinctive appeal. All of these particular sauces are fat-free and contain our special blends of spices, black truffles and fine wines and brandies.
By partnering with Vidalia Valley, Buckhead Gourmet has expanded its original product line to include a variety of other sauces and dressings ranging from fruity vinaigrettes to tart, Asian-influenced marinades and dipping sauces.
